SmartDSLAM
SmartDSLAM, composed of 16/24 ports IP DSLAM, IPAM-1600/2400 and Manageable L2 Concentrator, ADMS- L271, is ideally suited for ISP to implement bandwidth management for multiple subscribers. Namely, on the platform of SmartDSLAM, ISP can provide both ADSL and G.SHDSL services to their residential and business Subscribers simultaneously. SmartDSLAM also offers a perfect solution for both central office collocation and MTU/ MDU/MHU Connections such as airports, shopping centers and train stations.

SmartDSLAM comprises two Components :
1. IPAM-1600 and IPAM-2400:
  I.
The IPAM-1600: IPAM-1600 consists of two network modules; each network module provides eight ADSL ports with built-in POTS splitters. It provides broadband data service over existing copper wires without affecting the conventional voice service.
  II.
The IPAM-2400: IPAM-2400 provides 24 G.SHDSL ports. With 2.3 Mbps symmetric transmission characteristics over single loop, SHDSL is best suited to applications that need high upstream bit-rates. Though SHDSL does not carry voice like ADSL, new VoIP techniques may be used to convey digitized voice and data via SHDSL. SHDSL is being deployed primarily for business customers to replace expensive T1/E1 leased line.

2. ADMS-271:

The ADMS-L271 is designed to manage up to seven IPAM-1600 and IPAM-2400 with the uplink of Ethernet to a Layer 2/3 switch or a broadband router. For its offering extensive management capabilities, SNMP, Telnet, Web- Based GUI and Elements Management System (EMS), services providers can monitor and manage their SmartDSLAM more easily.

Key Features and Benefits :
ˇ·VLAN support
The SmartDSLAM supports mapping of Ethernet-VLAN to ATM-PVC feature for security concern.

ˇ·Compact design for limited space
The ADMS-L271 occupies only 1U, and IPAM-1600 and IPAM-2400 occupy 1.5 U of standard Telco rack space. Its compactness is perfect designed for collocation and basement installation. With the built-in POTS splitters, Servic providers save space and cost of installation of external pots splitters.

ˇ·Manageable and Cost Effective Expansion Design
As the number of users and applications increase, flexible design of IPAM & ADMS-L271 allows the service providers no need to add expensive uplink trunk, and also to be able to manage the SmartDSLAM (one ADMS-L271& seven IPAM-1600 and IPAM-2400) as one system via SNMP.

ˇ·Best solution for SME's broadband access
Deployment in nearly any symmetric application requiring bandwidths from 192kbps to 2.3Mbps, G.SHDSL is poised for the best cost-effective solution for business-based applications such as multiple voice line delivery, Internet access and remote LAN access. By adapting G.SHDSL, Small to Medium Enterprises (SME) no longer afford the expensive enterprise data solutions such as T1/E1.

ˇ·Advanced function for Broadband service offering
SmartDSLAM also offers advanced function for broadband services such as IGMP snooping and GVRP. New advanced functions in the SmartDSLAM enable service providers to provide services to more customers efficiently and economically.
